For more than 30 years, Houston Met Dance has supported the practice, creation, and presentation of dance in Houston by providing supportive programming that helps sustain the dance ecosystem.

Our residency programs provide choreographers with time and space, enabling us to assist independent artists and small dance companies to hold open public classes, create and rehearse new work, and present these new works in our performance space, The Phoenix Studio Theatre.

Houston Met Dance provides dance classes to students of all ages in multiple genres and styles. Our elevated dance instruction focuses on enhancing physical health, promoting cognitive skills, and inspiring creativity and artistry.

Houston Met Dance’s goal is $120,000 to continue in our mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and society through the instruction, cultivation and performance of dance.

As a non-profit 501c(3) organization, Houston Met Dance relies now more than ever on individual donations to support the organization and the space itself to create and sustain the programming HMD provides:

  • Over 45 Open Public Classes & Workshops Per Week Serving for Students of all ages
  • Performance & Creative Opportunities such as Adult Ballet Ensemble, TerraForm(ed) Collective and Adult Performance Showcase
  • Resources for over 45 individual artists and 14 small dance organizations
  • Programming to thousands of PK - 1st Grade, Middle and High students with on-campus residencies
